check Us Out!

I can honestly tell you that joining the ASTDps Board was one of the best career development moves I've made.  I'd like you to experience that as well.

Calling Interested Members!

Fall is around the corner, which means it's time to submit applications  for the 2010 ASTDps Board of Directors.  We will have two positions open ~ more to be posted soon.  If you are interested, please send me an email at Theresa.Kinney@lhh.com to receive the application package.  Informational meetings will be in September.  Please join us!

Career Development & Board Involvement

The woes of the economy can make us conscious of our own career progression ~ or lack thereof.  One thing that can make a significant impact on your career development is your active involvement in your local ASTD chapter. We have a great way for you to get involved!

Future of Training - Special Membership Drive

Be ready! ASTDps is offering a discount on your new and renewing memberships for those attending the Future of Training on October 2. For new members, the chapter fee will be reduced to $55; renewing members can renew at Future of Training for $45. This is a significant savings over our current rates, and good only for the day of program. Information and sign up forms will be available at the door when you register, so be sure to look for it!

What are YOU looking For in Member Benefits?

Over the past few weeks I have been looking at some of the websites for other ASTD chapters, in order to determine if they offer different membership benefits that our Puget Sound chapter. I am curious . . . are there any benefits that you receive from other professional organizations that you belong to that you believe would be advantageous to offer members of our chapter? Please post any and all ideas for consideration. Thanks!

My First Blog!

Hi! For many of you, this is an ordinary every day occurence for you, posting to a blog. Yet for me, it is my first dive into this section of social media. Funny, I had all sorts of things to say . . . then the screen was there and poof! all my ideas were gone.

This blog reminds me of other developmental changes I've experienced throughout my career. New medium, new ideas, new techniques are always out there ready to use. Some are intimidating to me, others easy and inviting. I can honestly say that blogging is one thing I've always thought about, but never done.
