Certificate Program in Training Specialist

The U.S. Department of Labor expects employers will devote greater resources to job-specific training programs in the next few years. Such training is anticipated due to the increasing complexity of many jobs, the aging of the workforce and the advances in technology that can leave employees with obsolete skills.

Professionals who design, facilitate and evaluate on-the-job learning are responsible for considering the different elements that create effective learning experiences for customers and employees. Organizational trainers who take this seven-month program acquire core concepts, key practical strategies and up-to-date resources that help them enhance their knowledge and skills to develop and implement effective training experiences. Participants develop training presentations that are videotaped and critiqued. This program is intended for organizational trainers and those who have expertise in business, government and other organizations and have been asked to provide staff training. A limited number of qualified applicants who seek new careers in training may be accepted.
